Instead, why not try something entirely different? Sailing away to warmer climates sounds like a genius idea. After all, who would not want to see Santa wearing sunglasses and Hawaii shirts while drinking margaritas? But where to go? Do not worry we have 5 new years eve in the tropics destinations which will literally melt your heart.

Bahamas | New years eve in the tropics
Speaking of stunning destinations, Bahamas are THE place to be for New Year’s Eve. Spending the days relaxing on the beach and enjoying the wild tropical nights, sounds like the idyllic holyday image. The majority of hotels are offering their own parties, but the real party happens on the on the Junkanoo Street. The parades from that street lead to fireworks shows and informal beach gatherings around the island. The Bahamian celebration is completed with masquerading street performers, colorful costumes and vivid music.

Rio De Janeiro, Brazil | New years eve in the tropics
Fireworks, sandy beach, flowers and traditionally dressed locals are just the perfect mix for ideal New Year images. The world’s largest and probably wildest New Year’s Eve party happens on the iconic Copacabana Beach, known as Réveillon. Locals are usually dressed in white and the custom is that they toss flowers in the sea for the goddess of the seas. The party includes large stages for live music and dance performances.

Oahu, Hawaii | New years eve in the tropics
If you are in love with New York, but cannot bare its cold winters, we have a perfect alternative for you. Oahu offers similar New Year’s Eve activities as the Big Apple, but in a more pleasant temperature. The party with live music and fireworks begins at 7 pm and goes on until 2 am. Jost Van Dyke, British Virgin Islands | New years eve in the tropics
Such a small island, yet such a big New Year’s Eve Party. Actually, one of the largest celebrations of the Caribbean. Not only that, you will have the opportunity to celebrate “Old Year’s Eve”, a party that lasts two whole days. A local bar, Foxy’s Tamarind, hosts the over-the-top 48-hours wild party, completed with live music, sparkly bikinis, dancing, eating and drinking. If Jost Van Dyke is your choice, be sure to make your reservations as early as you can, as lodging on this island is sparse.

So, you see New Year’s Eve does not have to be all about “Dashing through the snow in a one horse open sleigh”, but a true summer-like delight instead. Whatever works for you.
